Bureh is a Toronto-based guitarist, composer, and teacher with a strong desire to share with others the infectious joy and emotion that music and life bring him. As a music lover first, Bureh appreciates and draws inspiration from almost every genre but draws heavily from jazz, gospel, r&b, pop punk, contemporary Christian music, and several subgenres of African music. Specifically, Bureh cites Gilad Hekselman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, John Mayer, and Isaiah Sharkey as a few of the musicians that have influenced his playing and composing. Bureh holds a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz guitar from York University.

Currently, Bureh leads a jazz quintet known as “The Shop.” The ensemble’s compositions have a strong foundation in jazz but incorporate Bureh’s pop-punk, gospel, and African influences. The ensemble released its debut EP “Forward Motion” in 2022 and continues to perform regularly at venues throughout Toronto. Bureh is also part of a trio known as “We Make Vibes.” (WMV) The group is a beat-making collective that specializes in Afro beats. Having taught private guitar lessons for over seven years, Bureh is a seasoned instructor. He specializes in creating fun, easy-to-understand lessons that cater to the specific needs of each of his students. Through his diverse musical influences and passion for playing and teaching, Bureh is committed to spreading the joy of music to others.
