Director

Sarah Murley-Hauser

Beginning her violin lessons at age 6, Sarah was inspired by her first violin teacher, Heidi Behrenbruch, to become a violin teacher. She went on to complete her Bachelors of Music at the University of Toronto, focusing on violin pedagogy and performance under the guidance of Katherine Rapaport and Annalee Patipatanakoon, then studied violin pedagogy privately with Vanessa Mio.

For over 10 years, Sarah's ongoing teacher training and professional development has taken her all over North America, with training and mentoring under pedagogues such as Mimi Zweig & Brenda Brenner (Indiana University Bloomington), and also in the Suzuki Method. Sarah is also a trained Level 1 & 2 Paul Rolland String Pedagogy teacher.

When she's not running WSM, she enjoys long walks and hikes with her husband Tom and two dogs, Loki and Sif, watching The Office reruns with her cat Valkyrie, puttering around in the backyard, tending her indoor jungle of plants, cooking, playing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, scrolling Facebook Marketplace and MaxSold for antiques, cooking and eating with friends.
