Emily Curran is a distinguished artist and musician with 14 years of formal meditation training. Her focus on Tibetan Buddhist and mindfulness-based practices led to the development of the Meditation for Kids program, which draws inspiration from Jon Kabat-Zinn's Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program and Mingur Rinpoche’s Joy of Living program, both of which she has completed. Additionally, Emily served as a practice leader for the Joy of Living practice group for 12 years, where she met weekly to facilitate and engage in guided meditation practices based on the secular curriculum offered by Tergar International.
Emily has worked with children in many capacities over the years prior to offering her meditation program. She worked as a swim instructor and supervisor at Felix’s Swim Schools downtown locations for 7 years. She also worked as a nanny for many different families since she was 11 years old. Combining her skills as a musician, artist, meditation teacher and her experience working with children Emily is excited to share The Meditation for Kids! program with the WSM community!
