SUZUKI HYBRID LESSONS

WEEKLY PRIVATE LESSON & GROUP CLASS

Our Suzuki Hybrid lessons roll private music lessons and group classes into one child-friendly method. We believe that taking group classes in addition to private lessons can greatly enhance a student's experience!

Group classes provide group music-making opportunities as well as social and developmental growth that does not come with just private lessons.

Children learn the fastest by playing, watching and learning with other children.

COMMUNITY-CENTERED PHILOSOPHY

LEARNING WITH OTHERS

Music is meant to be enjoyed with others! Playing music with others teaches children how to play with others, follow a leader, experiment with music and learn more than just how to play.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Parents are an important part of their child's musical development.  Parents attend the lessons and serve as "home teachers" during the week, working with the teacher to create and enjoyable learning environment.

PRACTICING AT HOME

Practicing is the key to progress and enjoyment in music.  With daily practicing and listening, students will thrive and experience healthy and exciting progress.

REPETITION

Constant repetition is essential in learning to play an instrument. As when children learn a new word, they add new skills to their repertoire, gradually using it in new and more sophisticated ways.

LISTENING

Listening to the Suzuki recordings is an important part of home practicing. Listening to the recordings every day help students to learn the repertoire quickly and easily.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Encouragement and praise are key to learning anything new!  Each child learns at their own rate, building on small steps to be mastered. Children are also encouraged to support each other’s efforts, creating closely knit groups of mini musicians.

Book a trial lesson to meet your child's teacher and learn what books and and other supplies you'll need.

Check out our group class page to inquire about group classes that would best suit your child.

WE'RE READY TO MEET YOU!

LGBTQ2S+ Safe Space

We acknowledge that the land on which we live and work is the ancestral lands of various Indigenous Peoples and that we live on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, Chippewa and Wendat, in the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee to peaceably share and care for the territory around the Great Lakes, all newcomers are invited into this Covenant. This territory is also covered by the Upper Canada Treaties. Today, the meeting place of Toronto (Haudenosaunee 'Tkaronto') is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and live in this territory.
