Luyao Xu is currently a graduate student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Developmental Psychology Education. She just finished the Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy at the Michigan State University, United States. She found her interest in music when she first heard the performance of her classmates at the age of 7. She wanted to play like a star like them and now has been playing the piano for 17 years.

In addition to piano, Luyao has a great passion for vocal arts. She was a member of the Hart House Singers Choir at the University of Toronto and is currently the Art Director and Piano Accompaniment of the NeoVoce Philharmonic Choir, Toronto.

Luyao aims to teach students to learn music as a tool to express and embrace with the world throughout their life. Her preferred area is classical music, especially in the Classical and Romantic period, but she is always happy to learn the most popular music and students’ favorite songs.
