Yerhyun studied piano performance at Seoul Arts High School and composition and information science at Seoul National University. She's been composing and arranging for films of various genres, musicals, and a crossover Korean traditional music album since 2013. She lived in Germany for a few years before moving to Canada. Since then, she started to speak multiple languages, which led her to believe that learning music is like learning a new language, which can expand one's perspective of life and vocabulary to communicate with others.

What she thinks is important about teaching is to encourage students to experience various styles of music which meet their interests and assign them pieces of adequate level by thorough observation and conversation so that students can always be motivated.

She loves to learn Belly dance and visit delicious restaurants with close friends when she is not teaching.
